FOR THE SAVANNAH RIVER SITE OPERATIONS ACQUISITION The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Environmental Management (EM), is currently in the acquisition planning stage for the "Savannah River Site Operations Acquisition" at the Savannah River Site (SRS). The services to be acquired will be performed at SRS, a 310 square mile (198,344 acres) site that is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. SRS encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS was constructed during the early 1950s to produce basic materials used in fabrication of nuclear weapons, primarily tritium and plutonium-239, in support of our nation's defense programs. The current SRS M&O contract expires on September 30, 2021 with one twelve (12) month option period available through September 30, 2022 and is a major component of the overall SRS work scope and contracting structure.
The News and Announcements and Documents Library pages of this website will be periodically updated to include news and project information to familiarize interested parties with the project and related contract requirements.
