Pre-Proposal Site Tour

A tour of the Savannah River Site (SRS) will be held as a follow-on to the release of the SRS protective force security services final Request for Proposals (RFP). The tour will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. starting at the SRS Badge Office located in Building 703-46A off of SRS Road 1. Directions to SRS can be found at http://www.srs.gov/general/about/where1.htm.

The SRS tour will provide participants an overview of security support facilities and security activities as they relate to the RFP scope of work. Security requirements dictate that all participants remain with the tour group for the duration of the tour. The tour is expected to be completed no later than 5:30 p.m.

The tour will be available only to individuals representing organizations who intend to be a part of a proposing entity for the SRS protective force security services final RFP. Attendance on the tour is limited to five (5) people per organization or one (1) person per teaming member if a joint venture, Limited Liability Company (LLC) or similar entity will be the proposing party to the RFP. The Department of Energy (DOE) reserves the right to limit the number of participants on the site tour. All participants must be pre-registered to attend the site tour which will be conducted at the Unclassified Controlled Information (UCI) level. Therefore, all tour participants must be U.S. citizens. No foreign nationals will be permitted to attend the tour.

Prospective Offerors who are interested in participating in the SRS Pre-Proposal Site Tour shall complete the form below entitled “Non-Disclosure for Access to Certain Department of Energy Unclassified Controlled Information (UCI) – Savannah River Site (SRS) Pre-Proposal Site Tour” and provide it to Barry Page at barry.page@emcbc.doe.gov no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008:

Requests for site tour attendance submitted after October 14, 2008 will not be accepted.

Tour participants must report to the SRS Badge Office located in Building 703-46A off of SRS Road 1 Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at 7:30 a.m. for visitor badge processing. Participants must be on time and bring two forms of identification, one of which must be a photo ID.

The following items are prohibited on the SRS: real or simulated firearms and ammunition; hand-held weapons; explosives; stun guns; alcoholic beverages; illegal drugs and paraphernalia; accelerants; chemical irritants; and items prohibited by state and federal law. Prohibited articles brought to SRS will be confiscated. Additionally, the following items are not allowed on the tour: copying devices; electronic recording devices; cameras; undeveloped film; radios; cellular telephones and knives with blades more than 3 inches long. No note taking will be allowed during the site tour. The tour script will be Unclassified Controlled Information (UCI) and will be provided only to the tour participants at a later date.

Please be aware that all packages, briefcases, handbags and vehicles will be inspected. This is for the protection of SRS property and employees.

NOTICE: This site tour is for informational purposes only. Any statements and/or representations made during the site tour are not binding. You are cautioned that the ONLY controlling documents/information are the RFP and any amendments thereto. Questions will not be entertained during the tour. DOE requests that all participants submit comments and/or inquiries in writing via the email address at proforsrs@emcbc.doe.gov by Monday, November 3, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
