Solicitation Seeking Transportation Services Support for Waste Isolation Pilot Plant
EM Consolidated Business Center Issues "Request for Proposals"

The Environmental Management Consolidated Business Center issued a “Request for Proposals” on January 6th to provide transportation services necessary to support the National Transuranic Waste
(TRU) Program and Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) operations in Carlsbad, New Mexico. The solicitation includes transportation of mixed contact-handled (CH) and remote-handled (RH) TRU waste, asbestos and PCB contaminated TRU waste between generator sites and WIPP; CH and RH TRU waste between generator sites; CH and RH TRU waste between other Carlsbad Field Office (CBFO) designated sites; training units or empty shipping containers to training exercises and/or public awareness events; trailer maintenance; and acquisition of other equipment as designated by CBFO.
Two awards will be made: one on an unrestricted basis and another as a Small Business Set-Aside.
