EMCBC Recycles with Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries

Beginning in 2006, the EMCBC initiated a partnership with Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries that has expanded to provide recycling collection services for EMCBC-generated paper and cardboard products, glass, aluminum and plastic drink containers at our Cincinnati area offices downtown and in Springdale.

Recently, the EMCBC has also begun a partnership with Laser Life Corp to collect and recycle used toner and printer cartridges. Both partnerships highlight EMCBC 2007 Strategic Plan strategies designed to foster employee initiatives to reach out within their communities where there is a need and, secondly, to encourage pollution prevention and waste minimization. Included in the 2007 Plan are specific actions focusing on acquisition of recycled content products and the recycling and reuse of these products at the end of their life cycle.

Office of Logistics team member, Melvin Boyd, has been a driving force behind efforts to work with Goodwill and Laser Life Corp and should be saluted for the energy he has brought to encourage the rest of us to recycle. He and the rest of his in-house recycling advocate colleagues will be reminding us all to pick up the "recycling fever."
