U.S. DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY AWARDS CONTRACT TO COMPLETE CLEANUP AT MOUND

The U.S. Department of Energy today announced award of a contract to Accelerated Remediation Company (aRc) of Idaho Falls, ID, for the cleanup of the final two remaining contaminated areas located at the Miamisburg Closure Project (MCP) in Miamisburg, Ohio. The total value of the award is approximately $25.9M.
Ohio Field Office Manager Bill Taylor commented, “We are quite pleased that Accelerated Remediation Company is joining us for this project and look forward to the day this final piece of the cleanup is finished and we can declare victory.”
The successful bidder will safely remove radioactive materials and contamination from MCP’s OU-1 Project Area (Parcel 9) to levels that will allow for industrial re-use consistent with past site cleanup practices, cleanup levels and objectives. Parcel 9 consists of two distinct sub-projects: OU-1 project, a four acre area of the MCP; and Potential Release Site 441 (PRS-441), a MCP rail-yard area.
Only small business sources holding contracts under Contract Line Item Number 001 of the EM Nationwide Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract were solicited. All information concerning this solicitation is available for viewing at
