EMCBC Helps Out At The "One-Way Farm"
National Volunteer Week, 2008
May 2008

President Bush's proclaimed April 27 - May 3, 2008, as National Volunteer Week, a time when Americans can "demonstrate the kindness and generosity that make our Nation great. as the strength of America comes from its compassionate and loving citizens." Eighteen EMCBC employees, spouses and friends spent the better part of a day planting flowers, weeding, trimming bushes, power washing, walking the Farm's dogs, loading and delivering used items to Goodwill Industries, and loading "junk" into a trash container at the "One-Way" Farm," a home providing a safe haven for children needing a place of safe harbor in the Cincinnati area.

Providing the vision behind the project and coordinating the work detail was Kim Johnson. Among those participating were (in alphabetical order) Teresa Bayer, Greg Campbell, Lynn Chafin, Erin Clark, Angela & Anthony Cooney, Jack & Mary Beth Craig, Aaron Deckard, Brian Devir, Bob Everson, Dave Hincks, TJ Jackson, Kristin Quinn, Michael Sedgebeer, Helene Taylor, Trisha Zamarron. A second "Day of Caring" is scheduled for later in May to finish projects still to be accomplished.
