EMCBC Employees Give Generously to Combined Federal Campaign

Employees of the EMCBC raised and pledged $40,595 in donations for the FY 2007 Cincinnati Metro Area Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). Adding to employee payroll deductions and cash donations, were the proceeds from several fund-raising events and contests that raised $1897 and are part of the overall contribution amount.

The EMCBC donation amount represents 191 percent of the FY2007 $21,237 goal established by the Cincinnati Metro CFC Local Coordinating Committee. Additionally, the EMCBC has steadily raised its donation totals, with $19,326 in FY2005 and 22,699 in FY2006, since the EMCBC was established.

"The EMCBC employees have once again demonstrated our generosity and commitment to Cincinnati Metro Area charitable organizations. I am proud of the total 2007 EMCBC CFC donations and thank each employee who participated" said Jack Craig, EMCBC Office Director.One of the EMCBC sponsored baskets.

Fund-raising events included a Chili Cook-off; Spirit Day, where employees could, for a small fee, wear their favorite team colors or jerseys; Theme Basket Raffle, where individual offices donated items to build theme baskets; the locally popular Corn Hole Tournament, a bracketed contest where teams tossed beanbags at elevated boards with a whole cut for scoring and a horseshoe-like scoring system; a rummage sale; and a parking space raffle.

Larry Kelly and Michael Sedgebeer play cornhole.Basket winners were: Darius Jackson - Corn Hole Basket, sponsored by the Director's Office; William Winn - Chocolate Basket, sponsored by Office of Contracts; Donna Gudaitis - Tri-State Getaways Basket, sponsored by Legal Services; John Muskoff - Travel Basket, sponsored by Office of Finance; Trish Pennington - Mafioso Basket, sponsored by Office of Human Resources; Trish Zamarron - Cincinnati Sports Basket, sponsored by Office of Logistics Management; and Darryl McFarland- "A Little of This, A Little of That" Basket, sponsored by the EMCBC. Dave Lojek won the Parking Spot Pass that was sponsored by the Office of Logistics Management.

Showing exception skill at tossing a bag of corn (beanbag like) into a small hole, 30 feet away, were Nina Akgunduz and Aaron Deckerd, winning first place in the Corn Hole Tournament, with Jack Craig and Thom Meyer taking second place.

The EMCBC has participated in the Cincinnati Metro Area CFC for three years and each year has received recognition awards for its employees' generous contributions, and ranking in the top 10 percent among the 126 agencies and departments in the Cincinnati Metro Area.
